Set Design at Sunset Playhouse

I've been working with the Sunset Playhouse as set designer for their next production of:

The show runs March 7 through March 24, 2013.

It takes place in a one family apartment over a tavern, hence the name, in 1959. I have had a great time researching that time period, and trying to recreate the world these characters inhabit.

Here is an example of what I've been doing.

It's great to get hands on with the set and work on a project like this. I have had a lot of help from the Sunset's Technical Director A.J. Simon. Very handy and creative as well.

Molly and I have been busy making pink hats for First Stage Children's Theater next production: Pinkalicious the Musical.

Our hats are available in the lobby before and after the show. Or you can order one on the left hand side of my blog.

The Green Garage

Did you know my mom has a pretty fun and lucrative hobby? The Green Garage.

A couple years ago a group of women got together to sell reconditioned furniture. In their own words, "We are women who find, refurbish, and sell wooden furniture."

It started out as a one weekend event on someone's front lawn. And now they have multiple shops carrying assorted pieces and many more weekends throughout the year.

Kindermusik with Dawn

Molly, Silvia and I started going to Kindermusik last week. Directed by a wonderful woman Dawn. Today was our second visit. Silvia is really into it. She is very attentive and is signing for more all the time.

It's cold out there and we are crocheting up a storm.

First Stage Children's Theatre just opened To The Promised Land.
